I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. I lived there until the age of 25. I left my home town (and big part of my heart there) to further my education and never made it back. My family and I have lived in Bethlehem, PA, Lionville, PA, Carrolton, MD, Columbia, MD and Macon, GA. Macon has been my home for over 16 years. It is the longest I have lived anywhere since leaving Buffalo 30 years ago.
I still have family living there. They include my Dad, several Aunts and a lot of Cousins. My brother is a musician living in Springfield, MO. We have had very different careers from each other . I am an engineer and have worked in industrial research since obtaining my PhD from Lehigh University in 1985. All of that research work has been in the area of paper technology.
I am a Roman Catholic and proud of my religious affiliation. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to attend a Mass on Sunday anywhere in the world and be comfortable knowing the Mass will not be much different than what it is at home. I have attended masses all over the United States, in the United Kingdom, France and Canada. Of course there are always variations, but the structure is always very much the same.
